OM - The free kick should have been given the other way IMHO

If this had been on Rooney there would have been media uproar.

Re: Payet's and Valencia's injuries
I don't think the tackle should be seen in isolation- they'd been trying to kick him up in the air all game so it was obviously a tactic. Once he went off they started on Lanzini.

Everton were nasty and cynical and the ref was an inexperienced no-mark who lost control of the game. I don't think he favoured Everton, he was just inept and Everton could almost smell that and got away with what they could.

Fair play to Payet and Lanzini as a lot of players would retreat into their shell but they just got on with it.

So this 'hard but fair' line being trotted out. Are people going as far as saying it isn't even a foul?

Great Big Homosexual of a tackle.

Re: Payet's and Valencia's injuries
Firstly it was a tackle from behind which was outlawed years ago, secondly if you want to win the ball you tackle from the side to try to sweep the ball away. Thirdly the scissor is not a natural action when tackling meaning it should have most probably been a red whether Payet got injured or not.

So you have seen far worse, what's your point?

It was a horrendous "tackle" (GBH), deserving of a red

Payet is definitely the best footballer we've had since Di Canio. For his sake and ours, let's pray he makes a full recovery.

In the meantime I'm going to keep a close eye on that shit McCarthy and hope the worst happens to his jock/mick arse some time soon.

Re: Payet's and Valencia's injuries
If there's a positive to Payet's injury it's that I keep reading that signing him was a gamble due to his suspect temperament.

GPH has it exactly right that sometimes you don't know how injured you actually are when adrenaline kicks in and before the swelling starts but the fact that he tried his hardest to 'run it off' says bundles about this so called suspect temperament.

If anything it makes me like him even more.

“McCarthy never touched the ball."

bad as the tackle was, and as a scissor tackle from behind it should have been a straight red, that statement is bullshit!

Re: Payet's and Valencia's injuries
I ripped my ankle ligaments and chipped a bone in my ankle playing 5 a side years ago. Went in goal and played on as I didn't want to stop then when I got home and took my trainer and sock off I then realised how bad it was.

A top club source – struggling unsuccessfully to control his anger four days on – made no secret of his fury over the tackle which was perhaps the worst seen anywhere this season

Fucking hell.... does Erectile Dysfunction (Eerie Descent) work for the club?? What a dress wearing hysterical cunt....
